Data source

All data in the Finance API is sourced from the production instance of Workday via the EAP Data Lake.

• 10 PM Pacific, M-F: Workday data exported
• 3 AM – 7 AM Central, M-F: EAP loads new data into the lake
• 7 AM – 9AM Central, every day: Finance API loads new data from the lake

As we are gradually rewriting the ETL process to be more maintainable, the process runs in two stages. The first begins at 7:30 AM, the second at 7:50 AM, and it should completely by 8:30 AM at the latest.

Data in the Finance API is exported from Workday the evening of the previous business day. This means that most of the time, our data is less than 24 hours old, but it can be older on weekends or other non-business days.
