All data in the Finance API is sourced from the production instance of Workday via the EAP Data Lake.
- 10pm, M-F: Workday data exported
- 3am-7am, M-F: EAP loads new data into the lake
- 4am-10am: Finance API loads new data from the lake
Our own ETL runs several times each day:
- 4am: FDM data loaded (worktags like cost centers, grants, programs, funds, etc.)
- 7am: All other data loaded
- 8am: Just in case
- 10am: Just in case again
You can expect fresh data to be available in the API about fifteen minutes after our ETL process runs. This means that if you’re only interested in FDM data, you can run your integrations as early as 4:15 am central.
Data in the Finance API was exported from Workday the evening of the previous business day. This means that most of the time, our data is less than 24 hours old, but it can be older on weekends or other non-business days.
